I recently purchased a pelican wireless gaming adapter for my xbox 360, but now my internet wont work. ?

after i followed the cd instructions i plugged the provided ethernet cord into my xbox. Now i cant use my internet. i have wireless internet but i cant select wireless on my console settings. what can i do?
