he has been getting ear infections alot and he has had a bad cough that is dry then moist, it comes and goes. the docotr prescribed antibiotic amoxcillin. Is their anything else i should do for his congested chest because it sounds pretty bad. I'm worried it could be bronchitis or something. Are their any drops i should put in his ear? he is still eating good. Another thing i noticed was his bowel movement. It's greenish and chalky. I've never seen it like that before.

  1. I have worked in a day care for about a year and I am a mother of 2. It is a huge adjustment for them and you. The BM's are probably different because of the different variety's of new foods that he is getting. I promise you the first 4 months he is in daycare he will be sick. Their immune system has to get used to all the different germs that they are not used to. In the end your child will get sick a lot less often after he builds up his immunity. There isn't anything that I know about for the ears another then what the Dr. gave you. Both of my children have tubes so I have been through the ringer with ear infections. For his cough a vaporizer in his room is probably the best thing

  2. how old is your son?

  3. I always use a humidifier at night and Vick's vapor rub when my kids have chest colds.  The doctor can prescribe an ear drop for pain along with the antibiotics.

Ask the daycare what kind of juice they are giving him. I've seen different kool-aids do weird things to my sons p**p.

  4. use a humidifier at night and my con is in daycare I wouldn't worry to much your child is just in a new environment and has to get use to being around so many other kids and germs. His body will adjust. one note I wouldn't advise giving apple juice to late at night because sometimes it can cause diareeha, also milk isn't good for the congestion. just give plenty of water and if your child get a fever don't give orange juice.

    Hope this helps

Have a 2yr old been in daycare since 6mnths old
