after being told on my last day that I could definitely have my job back if I wanted it. Well my reason for quitting was simple, my mom has bin diagnosed with graves disease, and they give her 1 year to live. I was gonna find a job closer to home. I went in about a week ago to talk to the general manager and he told me that He wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. So send an email to the theaters email address asking if they could email me when a position was available. Every time I come into watch a movie he makes snide remarks and acts very childish. He even calls his employees Incompetent in front of customers. He had one that was pregnant forced to take maternity leave because she couldn't lift bags of seed or A trash bin full of Ice. Over the last 2 months hes had a 47 person turnover and its only a 6 screen theater. Most had worked there for 2 or

three years. He's only been here since January. anyways Before I get anymore off topic this was his responding email

"Hi ****,

Thank you for your service during the short period of time that you worked for Cinemark.

After you resigned, we hired new crew members to fill your position.

We believe it is time for both you and Cinemark to move on to other relationships.

To be clear, this means that no position will be opening up to you at Cinemark Cinema 6 in Ada.

Thank you."

Now I don't know what how that sounds to you guys but all I asked is if he could tell me when a position opened up.

I was also going to start working for a janitorial company that cleans out this same theater, but I was in training. On my 2nd night the general manager comes downstairs around midnight and tells us that beings I'm not officially hired bye One Stop then I couldn't even be there. Well I'm sure that One stop Doesn't wanna pay ten dollars an hour to not know what I'm doing. My mother says that thhe manager rhas it out for me.

  1. Would you ever be happy if the jerk gave your job back?   I could not for somebody like that.  Start looking for places that you might like better and apply for several, also start looking at working for your self.

Can you mow, trim trees, build fence.  I used to be a programmer and now am self employed doing manual labor, it took me a couple of years but I try to do a better job than my competitors, be there when I say I am, and have gradually increased my hourly rate to a point that I do charge more than my competitors and am taking away their business.

Hold your chin up, and take control.  Don't waste you time with a jerk.

    Good luck.

  2. First of all, you should not have quite, you should have taken a leave of absense. Second of all...you should not be wanting ot work for this loser anymore....put it behind you, this type of job is a dime a dozen...find something else and get on with the rest of your life.  If the cleaning job doesn't work out either...so be it....find something else.

  3. First of all, the theater manager may be somewhat of a jerk.  He either doesn't know how to hire the right people for the job, or he doesn't know how to train and evaluate people and situations.  Move away from him.

The last paragraph was not clear.   Who is One stop?  If you have a problem, go back to your supervisor or the person who hired you and discuss it with him or her.
