  1. a pedometer?make sure you get a good one because the cheap ones say you take like 5 steps when you pick it up to put on your waist!

  2. It's called a Pedometer! All different ones have different features.

  3. Nike has a decent one that goes in your shoe

  4. This is a a link to a really aesome device that I use. http://www.bodyconcept.com/family/6063/d... Its not cheap about $450 but it is really fantastic. It measures your speed, distance, heartrate, and has all sorts of programs and alarms. Better still it downloads the info straight to your computer so you have a really comprerensive outlay of all of you workouts. There are cheaper versions that work just as well but I highly recommend going with the polar brand.

  5. try a kick *** pedometer

  6. Theres the pedometer which recordes (usually for most) The ammount of steps and miles... you just clip it onto ur shorts or pants

  7. i too believe that an ipod will do the trick --the Nike ipod does catch you into buying the "shox" shoes and bluetooth reader that attaches to you ipod, but you can listen and get feedback-- both awesome. but you may need to get a heart monitor, its the one thing that will train you to say in you peak.

  8. A Free option is to go to www.mapmyrun.com. There you can go and enter the address and then click and drag your route, it gives you the most accurate distance, better than a pedometer which measures your stride which will differ from your first few steps to your last few steps. Then go to www.runnersworld.com and you can find your pace by entering your distance and then time, you can also see how many calories you burned.

  9. Actually, there is a really cool that syncs with your ipod.

I love it. You don't need the specific Nike shoes, because you can get the pouch that attaches to the kind of shoes that you like.

"Transforms your iPod nano into a personal workout coach--nano can provide real-time, spoken feedback that alerts you to workout milestones

Lets your iPod nano track your running time, distance, pace, and calories burned

Sync your iPod nano to transfer your workout data to iTunes and nikeplus.com for your performance history and more"
