I believe my reception is worse than the old rg-59. I know it is on my old analog sets I have. On my Samsung 1080p The HD channels are awesome but my standard digital channels have noticably decreased since upgrade. Is this normal? Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

  1. (Did we not answer this question in "TV" section?)

Check all the F connectors. Tighten with a wrench a half turn beyond finger tight.

    EDIT:

I had a thought - could you have loosened the cable behind the wall-plate when you switched the coax?  Take off the wall-plates and tighten the "F" connector that feeds through the plate.

  2. could have a factory defective cable, look at the ends and make sure there are no strands accidentally left wrapped around center pin, make sure there are no sharp bends. would really have to put a meter on it to see what the signal levels are in order to trouble shoot.

P.S.   don't waste your money on name brands, rg6 from home depot will give you same results as name brand.

  3. I'll bet the cable is just fine. Monster uses crappy copper. Snake oil!
