  1. DEP contract isn't anything. You can back out now, let your Army recruiter know right away, then contact the Navy recruiter he can help out also by talking to your Army recruiter.

All you will need to do now is wait, go up to MEPS, have your contract renew and go over to the Navy, and get reclassified. No worries, new ship out date.

If you need more help or support or advice, head on over to http://www.mynavyonline.com im KJC88 there. Good luck! GO NAVY!

  2. You can back out of the DEP at any time prior to shipping - you need to contact your Army recruiter and let him know your intentions and then see a Navy recruiter.  Before you do make sure that it is what you really want to do and don't waste another recruiters time - they are busy and can't spend precious time with people who aren't serious in their intent to join.

  3. You didn't say why you wanted to switch. seems like your scared of battle, well don't switch unless you have a real reason like getting a better job. of course all the branches are the same really.

  4. Talk to a navy recruiter.  You did sign a contract, but its not final till you actually go onto the plane to basics.  They might lie to you cause the recruiters will do that(not all, but some will and ive heard a lot about army recruiters)  Make sure you want to join the navy because they do go through a lot of paper work to get you into certain jobs.  Hopefully he hasnt gotten to that process.  Good luck and just talk to a navy recruiter or your army recruiter.  And again you can get out of it.  I have my job in the airforce and ship date oct 14.  i can call and cancle down he might say i can, but i really can.  They could... take you to court, but were not worth the money to be honest with you. :)
