I recieved this text from my bank, what does it mean??!?

"your card # (my card number) statement was issued today for a total amount of 656 thank you"

What does it mean? I'm freaking out!

  1. It means you should be calling the bank... not wasting your time on Yahoo Answers.


  2. It is a scam. Banks NEVER contact customers by text.

I believe it is a phishing scheme, which is becoming more common via cell phone these days.  I think someone is trying to get you to respond with your banking information so they can get to your funds.  Call your bank in the morning and confirm with them whether or not they sent it--DO NOT respond to the text!!

  6. Call and talk to a customer service rep.

    That may be what's in the account...

    That may be the spending limit on that card...

  7. You should call your financial institution and check with them. If it turns out to be a scam, then they need to know that kind of stuff.

  8. It means it did not come from your bank.
