I recorded a video on my camera but its on the side, how do i flip it? what program can i use?

I recoreded a video on my camera but it's on the side.

What program can i download to flip it?

I have an Apple MacBook so the program must be compatible with that.

Also i would like to change the file type, how do i do that?

Assuming your video is compatible, you can use iMovie to rotate it and then render to a different format.

if you could  find a friend that had windows u ccould use windows movie maker to rotate it

Apple has a free program called Imovie.  I've never used it, but apparently, it's really user-friendly, so you should be able to rotate it no problem.

I believe Imovie is already on your computer somewhere.
