I recorded my favorite show and without realizing recorded again, in the same tape, another show...?

is there a way to un-record the most recent show and recover the original recording.

On video tape, once a show is erased and recorded over, it's pretty much gone.

no, are you really using a tape? .. Might have a shot with a computer, but a tape... are you really using a VCR and Tape to record shows?  If its your DVR or TIVO you need to set it so it holds more than 1 or two of your show before it starts deleting them.. There will be an option as to how many of the same show you want on there at once.... theres like 47 Seinfeld episodes on my DVR and 50 something Family guy... it just deletes the oldest episode, whatever it is, when it needs more room
