I'm 15, and it's hard to get a job. I apply but no answer, all because I don't have past experience and my age. I really need one, our family is going through struggles and I don't turn 16 until december. Anything you guys can think of, thanks!

Also, I can't get a babysitting/house sitting/yard work job around the neighborhood, I've already tried the whole flyers thing.

  1. Last summer my son and I went door to door on saturday morning asking people if they wanted there lawn mowed.  All it took was an old lawn mower, some gas and a rack.  $20 a lawn.  If they didn't want that, we would offer $10, just so we would not leave empty handed.  I'm a proffesional engineer at a power company in virginia.  Me and my boy had a grerat time and spent all the money on Dairy Queen Blizzards :)  Also,  check Craigs l!st.  There is a help wanted almost every saturday for something.  Good Luck

  2. Kroger's is a good place. You don't have to have past experience and i just turned 14 and i got a job there!! hope you find a job : ) also the pay is decent

  3. I concur with the other answerers about hitting the pavement to see what is available.

Also I would suggest looking at http://snagajob.com which is a job search engine focusing on entry level positions that also has online applications for many of the jobs.

  4. Have you tried McDonalds, Burger King, Wendies etc? I know around where I live they are desperate for people and are hiring some very young kids. Or try applying to bus tables or do dishes at resteraunts, or janitorial work.

  5. I am 16, but i got a job when i was fifteen. just apply EVERYWHERE, and you'll get a call. keep in mind that its not always something personal if they dont call, [they probably just aren't hiring. EVERYWHERE is hiring now though because they're hiring for september. so apply to lots of places ASAP. and make a resume, even if its pretty empty/ fill out applications, attach a reusme...it looks more professional. and ask for a manager when you hand it in, because you know that its getting tot he right people FOR SURE.
