I reeled in empty today?

Question

today i have been using ground bait attached to a feeder with a size 16 hook with 1 maggot attached

i was sat there for a good 7 hours today and didnt catch a thing its not like theres not fish in there 2 days ago i caught a perch and yesterday a chub

any advice

p.s there are perch chub common carp bream tench rudd roach crucian carp mirror carp skimmers gudgeon and some where i fish

maybe you need to put 2 maggots on the line. you may also be in the wrong spot. You could also be using the wrong bait. IT may be a multitude of problems. Try using Minnows if you really want to see if there are some nice fish in there lol.

Thanks billy, by now most of us regular visters now you delema. You NEED to just try worms. Also try some small minnows. As to set the hook all you do it quickly jerk up the rod, and start reeling. It also might have been some minnows biteing at your bait.

Keep trying, never give up, and catch the big one!

try another bait.. and cover up like some of the hook cuz the fishies may see it and not bite

Your using maggots? Do earthworms bro, or live bait minnows, or you can do Gulp artificials and let them sit there. But maggots aren't the way to go.
