Before it was the opposite (computer was slow but internet was fast) now that I reformatted my computer, my internet is slow?!

1. I have Windows XP SP 2

2. I have comcast cable internet (i don't share my internet)

3. No I do not have any viruses/spyware/malware

4. I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus, and I use Windows Firewall, plus Ad-Aware (FYI, I had these before I reformatted too so don't blame them)

5. I clear my cookies daily.

I reformatted cause I wanted to make my computer faster and it worked. But if I knew my internet was to be this slow I would never have reformatted. I don't really download anything btw. Please help thanks.

  2. Your PC is probably infected with adware & spyware if:

         * You have downloaded music online

         * Your PC is running extremely slow

         * You are pestered by those horrible popup ads

         * Your homepage keeps changing

    Don't let people invade your privacy and slow down your PC!

    If so, then take a few moments to download anti-spyware software to get rid of spywares and get rid of adwares if your computer is infected.

  3. Hmm if you are using a W/L router, check signal strengths. Try going to www.speedtest.net this should let you know the speed you are getting. Also if that comes out fine, try using firefox addons like Ad-Block, they'd stop the ads loading in & the net would seem faster since lesser data would need to be shown now (although it my make booting of firefox a bit slow)

  4. Get firefox!
