  1. Now it depends.

If your connected with a router, your gonna  have to go through default setup.

    Just go to 192.168.0.1

    or something like that.

    and set it up.

If your connected with a modem, you should be connected automatically. if not try restarting your modem. make sure you setup your user and pass if required.

    message me for further info.

  2. There is a sertain way to do it:

    1. May be you have a disk that came with your internet package then you have to place it in cd-rom and follow instructions.

    2. Your internet provider should give you info like ip address if its static connection or user name and password for your modem.

    3. Make sure you have driver installed for your NIC card. To check if it’s installed you can simply right click on my network connections and choose properties then if you have local area connection icon there that means you good to go. If now you will need driver. If its now a brand name and your Ethernet port located on motherboard you can go to your motherboard manufacturer to download a driver. For example asus go to asus.com.

    4. Make sure your Ethernet cable is connected to your modem.

    5. Some modems can be installed with USB cable.

    6. Usually your problem is because you don't have a driver.
