  1. Now that you have vista installed, take your cpu and lay it on it's side.  Make sure its flat, because you will need a level surface to place your mac laptop.

Seriously, I would evaluate what you plan to do with your computer.  If it can be done by a mac, I'd say 85% of what we use our computers for, let a mac do it.  I was a pc man for years.  I now have 2 pc's and three macs.  As things stand currently in the computer world, Pc's arent holding up their part of the bargain.  Do take this to mean that macs are perfect but I haven't had a fraction of the problems I had with my pc's

  2. run and get yourself a Mac!

  3. If you have to keep reinstalling Vista, doesnt that tell you something about Vista ?

You can delete the old users folder as each new install creates a new user folder, just make sure any old documents are moved/copied before you delete it.

  4. you can delete it if you've backed up all the data and programs.

  5. yes you are fine in doing so.

If the file is not there though, then you wont be able to restore back to that installation.  It sounds like you had a reason to reformat though and dont need it any longer.  If you have files that you would like to keep then i believe you can sift through the windows.old file and copy them over to the newer installation prior to deletion.
