Question:

I rejected him... now it's akward? ?

One of my best guy friends asked me out on my birthday- last week.

All my friends said that we'd look perfect together....

but I just couldn't do it.

He's not my type at ALL... and I don't like him like that.

I told him that he's an amazing guy, and any girl would be lucky to be with him, but that girl's not me.

Whenever I see him now, I smile and say hi, but it feels like he's avoiding me.

I still want to be friends with him... does he want to be friends with me?

Any suggestions on how to make it less akward?

  1. dont worry about it too much it'll eventually all blow over. he's just feeling a bit rejected and maybe he misread any signals you were giving (although you might not have even realized it) and he just needs some time. trust me i went through the same thing. but i said yes even though i didnt see him like that at all but i didnt want to lead him on so i gave it a week to see and it didnt work it was very awkward. but after a weekend and a couple days i smiled and said hi and he waved back and yea he seemed like he was avoiding me too but i just took it slow and now we're just as good friends as we were before. we pretty much just act like it didnt happen. so yea just be patient he'll come around sooner or later.

  2. i'd stay away from him for a while, hes obviously feeling a bit hurt. give him some time and explain to him later on why you rejected him and offer to be friends.

  3. WOW, I KNOW WHERE U R COMING FROM, BUT HEY MY ADVICE IS TO GIVE HIM SPACE CAUSE U PROBABLY REALLY HURT HIS FEELINGS AND EVERY TIME HE SEES U HE HAS TO THINK ABOUT THAT HEARTBREAKING MOMENT...

  4. he's probably feeling a bit rejected and hurt. just give it time and dont push the issue with him.

he'll feel more comfortable soon hopefully, and you can get your friendship back on track normally.

  5. Hmm, I had the same problem. My neighbor (guy) has been my best guy friend ever since i had moved there, which was when i was 5. Now he asked me out. I told that i just want to stay friends. He kept pleading me to just try it out, but i denied him. I thought that after we'd break up things would be weird and that maybe we wouldn't be friends anymore. He means a lot to me and I would die inside if we got mad at each other. Tell your friend that your relationship with him is just too important to be tempered like that. Tell him that what would happen if you'd get in a fight and break-up. It would ruin your friendship. And if he says he promises that that wouldn't happen, tell him that promises are almost always broken. Tell him that you aren't his type, but instead of being your boyfriend his should be your best friend and you need him.

  6. okay if it was me nd& we had ben friends 4 a while nd& i sweat off u nd& askd u out nd& u said no i would b a lil pissd off but soon enough i would get over it or hate 4ever idk it depends

  7. just give him some time. do you know how hard it is for any guy to gain the curage to ask out a girl they really like. he is just a little bumbed out but he ll get over it

  8. yeah, things like that can ruin a friendship. maybe go up to him and say "hey! im really sorry about last week, but im sure you can do way better then me, besides, i couldnt stand it if something happened, and we never wanted to talk to each other ever again, your one of my best friends, and i love you, i just dont want to ruin what we have right now."  it might get him to understand a little more. Good Luck!

  9. Tell him that you don't want to go out with him because you don't want to ruin your friendship.

  10. ok,i'd say you have to talk to him and tell him how you feel it the only way gud luck<3

  11. aw just go out with him

  12. well he is probably hurt...probably needs some time because he doesn't know what to say. Give it some time..probably at least a month or until you feel right.

Try talking to him casually and form your friendship again.

  13. thats happened to me too,how we worked it out was i took him over somewhere nobody caould see us and i told him how i felt  and explainedmy feelings and how i really want to work things out finally he said thats how he felt too but we finally started hangn out more and we ended up bein best friends again i hope this helps u

  14. Well, my sisters best guy friend asked her to prom, and she didn't want to ruin her friendship with him so she told him, " I don't want to risk the great friendship that we have" He blew up and got so mad at her, he hasn't said a word to her since then. He started a rumor that she had s*x with this jock, which my sister hasn't even kissed before, and just blew her off! This may be the situation with you (but a lot smaller, luckily!), he may be mad, but give him some time to cool down, and try to repair the walls you have knocked over. If he isn't coroporating, maybe he isn't worth being friends with. Hope I helped!

  15. just tell him that you'r not as special as he thinks you are and also tell him that there are billions of girls on earth nd that he shouldn;t waist his time on only one girl....tell him to meet other girls instead of just you

  16. he's probably still reeling from the aftermath, but i think you rejected him very well. he had probabky been working up to it for a long time and is just feeling miserble now. but dont worry, time heals things. give him some space, eventually things will be back to normal.

in 1-2 weeks, send him an email or text asking how hes doing and whats up, did u hear about blah blah blah, whatever u usuallt talk about.

just dont avoid him back. but dont go too far outta ur way 2 get 2 b w him.

  17. its done friendship over. all he can do now is avoid you to get over you. whether this makes you like him a little more is yer desocion. firndship is over, cuz he probably didnt want to be yer "friend" in the first place. i feel sorry for him and would avoid you too.
