Question:

I removed the s***w from the right hand side of the skeg and I cannot get it to go back. any answers?

It was silly I know but I thought it was the oil drain s***w Its an Enfield outdrive.

  1. Ewww, not good.  Is it stripped...in that it won't even begin to thread in? If so the fix is to tap out the hole and put a new s***w in. If it threads in but grabs nothing....whatever it threaded into( was held by the s***w) has dropped away. In that case you have to remove the skeg and retrieve the part inside and remount it.

  2. Clean the threads and have a GOOD look at the first thread on the s***w. That'll let you know whether you've got to replace the s***w or not. Otherwise, clean the h**l out of the threads on both sides with clean rags and a degreaser, then apply fresh grease to the s***w and try again.

  3. the s***w that you removed is likely the pivot pin for the shift linkage.Does it have a long pin after the threads?

      What horse power,model,year?
