  1. Don't snowboard! I know someone who's been hit by a snowboarder and broke there're collar bone

  2. snow boarding is just as fun as skiing, it just depends on what you prefer. It doesnt matter if its a snowboarder or a skiier that runs in to you, you can still break your bones.

  3. I have been skiing my whole like and tried snowboarding about 4 years ago? And was already way better at snowboarding then i ever was at skiing. I think people are usually good at one or the other. You can try snowboarding why not? and figure out which you like more. Pointers are to wear thick pants. You will be spending alot of time on your ***.

  4. Don't be scared by people's injury stories. Snowboarding is sick. It's good to be able to do both. I snowboard most of the time now to hit the terrain parks. But, I jump on the skis every once in awhile. Despite what people say, I caught onto snowboarding really quick because of my experience with skiing. If you're willing to practice a lot, I say go for it. Also, take a lesson or two at first. It'll give you a jumpstart from someone who knows what they're doing.

  5. I've snowboarded an skied for the past 10 or so years of my life, and personally skiing is more fun...Last year i shattered my collarbone snowboarding (though i was doing snowboard cross) and had to get a metal plate put in to hold it together...But its all personal preference...I will say that at first snowboarding will be way harder than skiing...but you'll get the hang of it good luck

  6. ok iv e been snowoarding for about 8 yrs and its problly the best wi nter sport ever. even if people sayyour going to get hurt i mean what sport dosnt so just try it and if u dont like it go back to sking. just live it like it was your last

  7. Don't try to teach yourself.  It'll be frustrating and difficult.  You need someone who is at the very least an experienced rider if not a trained instructor to walk you through the basics of snowboarding.

Snowboarding is harder to learn than skiing but is easier to master.  Meaning that it will take you at least a few days to work out the beats and be able to link your turns safely and easily.  Skiing is easy to pick up but is hard to master.

Don't listen to the "omg you'll get injured" people.  Any sport is as dangerous as any other, it's all up to you and how you approach it.  Wear wrist guards on your first day out because you'll probably fall a lot and it's instinct to stick your hands out to save yourself.

And have fun!  Don't be too tense and just work on learning one skill at a time.  If you try to straightline the hill the first time you'll get hurt and not enjoy yourself.
