I replaced my gas water heater, now my hot water has very low pressure. Do you know what I can do?

The hot water pressue was fine before, not it is very slow.

  1. Here's a bunch of guesses - If you used a different heater then it may simply have more pressure drop.  The other possibility is air trapped in the lines or in the tank itself.  The tank may have a pressure regulator associated with it that has a setting that can be changed.


  2. Check the screens in your showers, faucets and wash machines.  Changing the water heater probably dislodged deposits in the pipes that are clogging the screens.

  3. Have you checked to see if the valves are fully turned on?
