I replaced rearend and now the e-brake is engaged, how do i disengage?

it is a 1990 bronco, fullsize,i replaced my rearend but now my e-brake is stuck on, how do i take the e-brake off? i obvously pulled the lever to disengage,, and i climb under to pull the brake cable to disgage, nothing happened, i started it and put in drive to try and force it out of e-brake maybe that would work and nothing. how can i disengage

  1. If you are sure the e-brake cable is loose then the return springs on the brakes are not working or are hanging up. Try banging on the backing plate or each rear brake. If no luck try backing off the brake adjuster (star wheel)/
