  1. Maybe theres a fire?

  2. Try a new battery again....then check your other detectors..usually when one chirps it will set the others off...i found this out at 3am one morning the hard way..

  3. Once the battery has been replaced, try holding a cushion over the smoke detector for 30 to 60 secs (the alarm will sound). This should reset the alarm with the new battery.

  4. The battery should be changed every year, most do this when we switch to daylight savings time. The chirping is an indicator of a weak battery.

  5. 1. Try new battery.

    2. Try new Smoke Detector

2a. Be careful some newer units use house line voltage and they're a special kind of smoke detector.

  6. Try another new battery.  It's possible that the battery that you installed wasn't any good.

  7. usually they chirp when the battery is low,try another battery but before you do, blow in it to remove any air it is detecting.

  8. First, check the battery you put in to make sure it's charged. If so, replace the smoke alarm with a new one. If the old one is hard wired, get an alarm technician to check it out.
