I have a 97 Chevy Monte Carlo. One of the headlight bulbs went out a few days ago. I replaced the one that was out, but it still won't work so the failure point must be something else. What should I do next? and how much should it cost? Thanks!

  1. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

I just put another bulb in after replacing the first one.

  2. test the plug at the headlight with a test light, if you can get power..you have a bad bulb or bad connection there..

if there is no power, trace the wiring harness back, looking for damage or a bad connection....

  3. check for power and ground if no power check your fuse panels and see if theirs a fuse for each head light if you find one blown check the wiring to find out why the fuse blew if those are fin see if theirs a relay for the head lights a small black box with th fuses and they have 5 prongs just try switching the suspected bad one with a known good one if that still don't work check to se if the relay is getting power to activate it i don't know which prong is witch off hand but an automotive electrical shop should be able to tell you

  4. check the ground wire for that side or the connector, those was bad to loose connection where they went on the the bulb, that caused a lot of problems for chevy owners, good luck.
