I reset a dell dimension 5100 desktop and now it wont connect to the internet?

well my gfs computer which is a dell had tons of virus' on it. so i reset it completly back to factory settings. now the internet isnt working at all.. we are using a wireless usb adapter to connect to the wireless router. i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. it says a cable is unplugged but nothing is. i've tried 2 different usb adapters one is belkin and the other is netgear. help me pleaseeeeeeee.. all i need is help to get it connected online again.

did you reinstall all the drivers after you reset the pc, these need to be reinstalled to get things working the way they were

Try rebooting your modem.
