I restored my ENTIRE PC. How in the h**l does my system restore get adware in it already?

  1. Well just to make sure, system recovery and system restore are different. on erases everything and makes it like it was out of the box and the other uses a back up image. So if it was a back up image that was used then there could be adware. but unfortunately those little buggers would love to infect your pc with their ads and so they do

  3. Need a bit more information than that. Are you saying you performed a system restore, restoring to one of the previous saved check points? Or are you saying you reinstalled your entire operating system?

    If its the system restore its very possibly you had the adware at that checkpoint but it hadn't corrupted any important folders or files.

  4. Because the restored version of Windows is missing a lot of security updates.
