My break lights and night lights work fine but both left and right signals flash at the same time. Is there any quick fix to this problem?

  1. Check the brown and yellow wires to be sure they are not connected to the same pole on the plug. It' s easy to repair if you have a 12 volt test lite.  good luck, and be sure to get a good ground !

  2. i hope you used color coded wires.. first make shure the tow vechicle is working properly... if it is look for a place where you have two wires touching.. http://www.herberts.org/wayne/valk/trail...

read this maybee you should start over... that is easier. and get some masking tape and label all connectors.. then you can review what you have done. ok gilermo.

  3. Recheck your wiring schematic. The wires may have shorted out in the trailer. Unplug trailer and use test light to check the plug on your vehicle. If that is OK check trailer again. If problem remains install new turn signal wires on trailer.

  4. Wiring incorrect.

IF you replaced the plug, there should have been a sheet of instructions.  If NOT, the plug itself is USUALLY labeled.

Depending on plug, you will have a Ground (G), Brake light (S), Left signal (L), Right signal (R), marker or 'night' lights (M and/or T) as a minimum with possibly Auxillary (A) which is usually used to keep 'wet' cell for 'breakaway' switch to electric brakes charged and or to supply power to a boat winch, and Brake controller connection for electric brakes (B).

A few OLDER units do not have a ground connection and depend on the hitch for ground.  These SHOULD be replaced ASAP, as they do NOT always provide a good ground.
