  1. yes, leather will stretch...

  2. get custom made ones

or you can order them w/bigger calve sizes !

go to Dover Saddlerary .com they can help you

    or a custom boot maker

are you going to show with these boots ? if so they do look down on zippers in Equ classes

Now the boots made for the pony clubbers have a good price

and they will have so many ,,,different sizes to choose from

so ck them out at Dovers """they are not that much money

    OR STATE LINE TACK.COM

  3. They'll stretch, but not THAT much!!

I recommend taking them to a good shoe repair shop and asking them to put a triangular gusset in the back, where the seam is, using a good piece of leather to match the boots.  You'll also want to get the kind with some elastic near the top - the stretch helps get the top part over the widest part of your calf and still fit snugly when they're up.

You can get a product called "Boot Stretch" to help stretch them, but I think an inch is really too much.

  4. Yes, I'll wear them for you!!!

    Oh, I've just realised Doh.

When you said 'leather person', I thought you meant someone who likes leather -  boots n that?

But what you really meant was a Cobbler!! hahaha

    Oh well....

  5. Leather boots will stretch when you wear them.  You should get boots made for your size calves.  They make tall boots in extra wide calves or if they're not wide enough you can either get an elastic piece put in them to make them wider or you can get the boots custom made.  Leather will stretch, but it's a much better idea to get your boots that will fit rather than having them stretched.  If you get the leather stretched, your boots will probably be very tight and if your leg gets wider, they won't have any extra give to them so they'll be very tight and might not fit anymore at all.  Getting custom made boots is expensive, but it's the best in the long run if you can't find any boots wide enough for your leg.

  6. they'll stretch, put water on them before you ride and they will stretch more. but i suggest getting ones with back zippers to get them on easier.
