  1. 5 Miles is great to run, but it depends what you are doing it for. If you are just trying to stay in shape, that's just the right amount of running, because it doesn't take too long, but it is enough, try to keep your pace consistent.

However, if you are training for something you should add more to your 5 miles of running. (ie. If you are training for a marathon, you should have longer distance runs, or if you are training for track (all events) you should add in speed workouts)

  2. no... just make sure you have good form and eat enough carbohydrates. also, get new running shoes approx. every 350 miles. it might seem llike overkill, but it's better than shin splints and lower back/leg problems.

if you want to get faster though (in distance running) 5 miles daily won't help a lot.

do core training and interval workouts, (ex. 400m, rest, 300m, rest, 200m, rest, 100m rest, then go back up) , also tempo runs and hills are great.

    my 2 cents

  3. no thats not too much, just make sure you take one day off a week. i run different miles each day, this is an example of what are xc varsity girls do at the beginning of the summer before---

    monday---6

    tuesday---4

    wendsday---6

    thursday---5

    friday---4

    saturday---6

    sunday---rest

so its not too much at all

  4. If you can handle it, go for it. Eat a good diet to compliment it though, take in the calories you need.

  5. No i run 10 miles in one day with out stopping

  6. ...

I suspect you are quite happy that you are able to do that much every day.

Likely, that's a "just right" amount - not too much, not too little.  If you're running just beyond 40 minutes, you're getting into the 'fat-burning' zone, and that's helpful for many who need to lose a bit or maintain weight.

And you're not running too much (though I am not quite sure how much is really too much) where you're setting yourself up for some high-use (NOT over-use) injuries.

Just keep wearing good shoes, replacing them when they wear down, and thank God each day for the run you have had!

    Regards,

    Phil

  7. 5 miles is average. Compared to me and my friends (known psychos so you may not wanna pay attention to this) it isn't TOO much. We run about 7 in the morning and then 10 at night. But we don't simply run, we jump off stuff.

  8. when do u rest? 5 miles a day is great. but i'm willing to bet that u can run even longer and faster if u do it every other day. with 1 really long/slow run per week.

  9. if you like to run and it is fun for you and it helps you for school and everything then sure, it 's not that long to run. i'm in 6th grade and i run 3.5 miles everyday without stopping. so just do what you do and keep at it.
