  1. practice coming out of the blocks. even if you think your good at it...you can prolly be better.  get your feet and timing down better and the steps out of the blocks quicker.  if you can get out quicker then you will finish sooner.  a 11.97 tells me that your really fast as it is, so fine tune your form too.  make sure to eat heathy too.  drink lots of water before running, it really helps out your muscles to move better.as do bananas

  2. Sprinting is very complex.

    It takes time to improve.

You need to train all year.

Lift weights and do plyometric exercises to gain strength.

Practice block starts, the starts are extremely important in a short sprint.

Learn to accelerate and then have good form so you don't slow because of fatigue.

Your practice should be starts running up to 40 meters.

Run repeats of 200 meters to work on your speed endurance and make you stronger.

A good speed day is to run 10x150, start on the curve and build up so that you are at top speed with 100 to go, run relaxed, walk back for recovery.

Sprinting is being able to run at top speed without tensing up which causes you to slow.

  3. i would try interval training- sprint for 1 min walk for 30 seconds, sprint for 2 min, walk for 30 seconds, sprint for 3 min walk for 30 seconds, etc do this for as long as you can and build up to running for 10 min
