I have our main activity that we'll do during class, but I just need a filler game or two. Something that will encourage them to use their imaginations. Thanks for any ideas you might have for me!

  1. -Simon Says style game...'T-Rex Says- and you can do differnet dino based instructions "Stalk your prey", "Eat some leaves", "roar" etc.

-Musical dino-play the music, when music stops children have to freeze in a dino pose :)

  2. How about Raptor team?  As you know, raptors hunt in groups to get their prey.  So you could perhaps have a ratio of 5 raptors for every one prey.  Make it like a game of tag... the prey gets a headstart, and all five raptors then run after the prey until one of the raptors tags the prey. It can be fun on a playground if you have lots of things to run around or to climb.

  3. Instead of "if you're happy and you know it" do "if you're a dino and you know it" and do some things that dino's do...roar, stomp, etc.

Also, have the children rename themselves. Instead of being "billy" he's "billosaurus" and have him tell the class what he likes to eat, play, his favorite game, etc. It will be silly and fun.

Go on a dino hunt.....make foot prints for them find in the sand of dino's....bury bones.....or take them for a walk and see what they find on their imaginative "dino" hunt.

    Good luck!
