And I travel up north for almost 2 months, while my friends stay down south and go to all the practices, I really don't know if I'm actually running my mileage I need to, I just look at my watch and hope I'm running the right pace. I ran 8 today and felt pretty good, then spoke to my friends and they're all tired, am I just better than they are or did I not do the correct mileage?

  1. You could be better than them, or like, I tend to notice that when people run in groups, they goof off a lot and talk too much, so you're probably just more focused on your breathing than they are, hence the out of breath stuff.  And dude, yeah, 8 miles?  Noice.

  2. The temperature is probably higher where they are and it's more humid.  That will slow them down and wear them out faster.

  3. How much did you run? 8 miles, that is pretty good. but if you only ran 8 minutes... you need to run atleast 30 minutes non stop.

  4. you will always train better in a group because the other people are pushing you and your coach is there setting the pace. Ask them/your coach what they run each mile in and judge by that, stick to running a route that you know the mile markers on so you can see if you are on pace. You might be better or you might not be pushing yourself as hard. Either way, you always want to try to push yourself harder.

  5. 8 miles is very good.  I'd probably say that you are in better shape than them.  Just as long as you keep on running 6-8 miles a day, im sure you will be better.(its different for me because I try to run atleast 2 miles a day...but im only 13)

  6. It could depend on the terrain that they were running on or the pace they were running at. Going 8 miles is good unless you are going at 10 minute/mile.
