I run slow!!!?

I am 5'4 110 pounds and 14 and I run so slow, the slowest in the class, and I really want to get fast and prove everyone wrong over the summer, please help!

  1. jump rope alot...buy like a speed rope...it increases your stamina..alot! i do 1000 jumps everyday before going to sleep....sounds alot but very easy with a speed rope...because ur jumping at top speed...but i dont do it constantly..i trip a couple of times on the way...

    well anyways...run....push yourself harder and harder everyday...make a goal...a realistic goal...then beat it...(notice how i didnt say IF), then set a new goal..and do the same thing...

  2. Practice every day. and while you run start off slow then get fast the get slow then get fast . it works really good

  3. run for like 30-40 min ever other day and you will get faster and do that at what ever pace you can but not walking

  4. t's ok, everybody has to start somewhere. First off don't be in too big of a hurry to get faster, it's an easy way to injure yourself. Now the pros do speedwork/weight training once a week. Weight training is pretty self explanatory, but speedwork involves short but fast repetitions.

    Best way is to find a track and either do 100m or a full lap(quarter mile). Run at about 75-90% of top speed for each rep, then rest. This not only builds muscles for speed, but improves your form and your lung capacity. Good luck!
