  1. The Mrs. is correct.  The cumpulsory ages of education vary from state to state.  In some states a child is not legally required to attend school until age 7.   It is true that most parents do not realise this and most schools do not publicise this.  How would they make any money if they let kids learn freely on their own until they were seven years old?  Those who state that preschool is vital for academic success are also misinformed.  Please read the book Better Late Than Early, by Raymond Moore.  It is a classic that schools do not want you to read.  I once thought as I was taught; preschools are imperative to the future of our children.  I learned by first-hand experience how wrong I was.  I have seen the inside story.  I have seen what mothers who think they are doing the best for thier children have never seen: the preschool from the teacher's point of view.   I have seen a preschooler attempting to teach a sexual act to another preschooler.  I have also seen the syrup from canned fruit being served in glasses and called "fruit juice" on the menu.   I have witnessed the struggles of teaching to the many learning modalities of a full class room vs the ease of teaching one young child at home with no more than life experiences as the basis for learning.   I have also seen perfectly well-adjusted children begin first grade or K with only the wonderful background of home to light their educational future.  I saw enough to make me quit teaching preschool for good.  I saw so much that I became a firm believer in home schooling even through to high school, but that is another story.  You asked if preschool was manditory.  I tell you that not only is it not manditory nor is K, in some states, but for most children it is not even preferable, contrary to the popular belief of those who have not research this subject.  If you care to tell me what state you are in, I would be obliged to tell you the cumpulsory ages for education in your state.

  2. sorry

  3. It is not mandatory but highly recommended, unless you work daily with your child ....

  4. its not mandatory but it is recommended because it is practice for kindergarten. have you ever seen the commercial?

"if i go to preschool... i will have a better chance in kindergarten, if i go to kindergarten i have a better chance at grade school, if i go to grade school, i have a better chance at middle school, if i go to middle school, i have a better chance at high school. If i do well in high school, there is a chance i will have a better thought of college. "

  5. preschool is for kids who are not up to where they should be when they start kindegarden

  6. no it isn't mandatory but it can help those children that may be having developmental delays. My nephew didn't do preschool and started kindergarten and didn't pass but his younger brother went to preschool so he was better prepared for kindergarten so he didn't have to repeat it

  7. No it is not mandatory.  In fact in some states Kindergarten is not mandatory...though many people do not know that.  Now that "Kindergarten is the new first grade" most schools would enroll a child into Kindergarten if they had never been to school anyway though.

  8. not sure but i know you can skip kindergarden through pre-school. i did so i would know!!!=)

  9. This is according to the state that you live in. Most states, don't have a mandatory pre-school setting so you should be fine. For your best interest, you should check with your state board of education for positive results. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace, Love and God Bless.

  10. No it is not mandatory for a child to go to preschool, it is just recommended so they get used to being around other kids without having their parents around.  Preschool is quite expensive per day.  It is compulsary for children to attend kindergarten all the way through to year 10.  Year 11 and 12 is also optional as yet (although i heard they would like to make it compulsary in the future).

  11. no its not you really dont learn that much i went but if you work during the day you could take your kids because thay can make friends and learn a little

  12. It's not mandatory that your child go to pre school, but it is recommended. Because they work with your child on colors and shapes. And your child can get used to being around other children.

  13. well your kids will have a way better education if they go to preschool...trust me on this one.

  14. they can but preschool prepares them

  15. Preschool is not mandatory, but I believe that if your city offers it for free then take advantage of it.  Preschool really prepares children for kindergarten. It helps children academically and it reliefs them from some of the anxiety they may feel when they have to start kindergarten. In some cities you have to pay for preschool,  if you can afford it then great. If you cannot afford it, do not worry because although it is helpful, it is not necessary. You can just teach your child at home and when they start kindergarten they will be prepared.
