can he run his car on cooking oil? You with gas prices being so high at the moment can cars run on alternative methods of fuel like cooking oil? I'll bet the cooking oil has to be changed somehow like the gas has to be changed before you put it in your car. Do you think thats what this guy is going with all the cooking oil he's buying or does he just love his fatty fast foods?

Do you think he can use cooking oil as an alternative fuel to gasoline? I'm not a scientist so I don't how you make your car run on alternative fuel I suppose you would need a catalitic converter or something. Serious answers please.

  1. Well, I think this guy was probaly running a store. Since you wouldn't save much running your car on cooking oil since you buy it for $3 for 3L so it is a dollar a liter just like our gas prices. So you probaly just save a few cents a liter. But if you buy more now and the gas prices get raised then it would be worth it. (That's My Opinion)im no scientist but got good knowledge

  2. You cannot use cooking oil to the car because it will not

function, but I saw in the news that there is a cooking oil that can be use to run the car and also I think he bought 10 bottles of cooking oil for cooking food in his house or he has a restaurant that needs plenty of cooking oil.

look at the answer from the Agua-Luna.com -I LIVE OFF GRID- guy.

that might be what he was trying to make.

and yes, you can use it to make bio-diesel

  4. For Que 1

Heard of multi-point fuel engines ? A vehicle running on 5-6 alternate fuels ? Army vehicles are designed that way.

    Que 2.

    Maybe he trades oil ?

  5. He obviously owns a restaurant!

  6. HA!

    He might be making biodiesel.

  7. maybe he has or works for a resturant and the deliveries are late. I've had to do that before,

  8. He probly just works at a restraunt.

I go and buy heaps of things for my work all the time its emabrsing haha

I baught like ten bottls of lemon juice and some dude was like ohhh is that on sale then haha

  9. I doubt he would buy unused cooking oil for his car, but any ordinary diesel car can be run on vegetable oil with no modifications, just filter oil from a deep fryer for example and use it as fuel.

  10. you cant run a gas engine on cooking oil, but you can run a diesel engine on that oil. however you still need to start, and shut the engine down on diesel, otherwise the cooking oil will congeal in the fuel lines and cause no end of problems.

  11. You can use vegetable oil as fuel as long as you own a diesel, make a modification, and then filter the oil before putting it into the engine.  Currently my sister buys biodiesel (which costs almost $4/gallon) and she's saving up to make the modification to her diesel so she can use straight-up vegetable oil.  She's going to try and get used oil from restaurants though - I don't know how much cooking oil costs, but from the store it's probably pretty expensive.
