I saw a nightmarish short film when I was little, it terrified me! can anyone help me find out what it was..?

Here's what I remember - It was in black and white, silent throughout except sound effects and they seemed to wear 30's clothes. It started with a man rescuing a bald, very white woman who was in a bath, he gave her his coat and she emerged from the bath covered with feathers and the body or a huge white bird!

He took her home and she proceeded to consume everything in the house until there was nothing left so she ate his legs!! He then escaped and she tracked him down, he fought her until she was rescued by another man and so the circle is complete....

Any ideas??

I have not seen this short film however, I can recommend one that is very similar and more recent.  It's called Jenifer and it's part of a series of short horror films called Masters of Horror.  It's the exact same theme and story-line as the film you saw.  Here is the web site...it was part of Season 1 and can be rented on DVD.  I highly recommend it!

That sounds freakin scary, but I don't think many people are that knowledgeable with the cinematic people in that period. You might want to look into the makers of Nosferatu, which was another HORRIFYING black and white silent, because there couldn't be that many scary movie makers from back then.
