  1. Probably a Viper racing a Cobra.

  2. It might help if you explained where you saw it.  People from all over the world submit questions on Yahoo Answers.  I have no idea what kind of snake it was, but I do know what it was doing on the highway.  It was trying to get to the other side.

  3. Then you should have ran over it . I always do.

  4. i need more info like were in the us or were ever you are and more on what it look like

  5. It was just crossing the road to get to the other side no big deal........

    Black Racer.

  6. Just a greensnake/garden snake.  I bet I could get up and go walk out to my road right now and see a snake, cuz we sure have a lot here.  Actually, I bet if I walked around my back yard right now I could find one.  They love going over or even laying on the pavement to warm themselves, just like they do on rocks.  Snakes are everywhere, even in cities.  Don't be freaked out.  Snakes are generally very good to have around.

  10. what kind of snake was it? depends on where you are.

whats it doing on the highway? crossing the street obviously...

  11. Maybe you should be asking it this question.

  12. Cool!  Wish I had been there to see it.  I love snakes.  Sounds like it could have been a green racer.  If you were in the USA, it was definitely not poisonous.

As for what it was doing on the highway, not to be facetious, but if it was moving quickly, it was just crossing the road : -)  If it had been lying still, it was there to warm up, as snakes are cold-blooded, which means their body temp. is not internally regulated, and they have to lie in a sunny spot to warm up after a cold night.  This is how most snakes are accidentally killed (well, this and lawnmowers).

Whatever you do, try to avoid running any kind of snake over.  They are very beneficial and necessary to keeping rodent populations in check.

  13. i don't know but i hope it didn't get hit!
