It was yellow all over so I know it wasn't a yellow wagtail. I live in the Scottish Highlands, anybody have an idea what it might have been. It was about the size of a blackbird.

  1. I can't think of anything blackbird-sized in a yellowy-green. Could it have been a green woodpecker? They are mostly green, but I'm not sure they are found in northern Scotland. The golden oriole is a summer visitor to the UK and is bright yellow and blackbird sized, but usually only visits south-east England.

Smaller yellow-green birds could include the yellowhammer or greenfinch.

If it comes back, get a photo!
