I saw my dad gf giving the dog a bathoutside with the hose.?

Question

Now i know the hose is cold water. and its not tempture control. And it pretty cold for me to get wet outside now.

so i think it be too much for animal. Are there any laws that protect the animal? (dog)

I know when we gave dogs a bath in animal sic it had to be a certin temputre before we got the dog wet.

I live in the upper midwest, and gave my big dogs outdoor baths last weekend.  I give baths outdoors all summer long, and my own rule of thumb is that if the cold water isn't too cold for me, it isn't too cold for them.  As long as it is warmer than 65 degrees or so outside, it's pretty tolerable.  My dogs don't mind the cold water in the summer, because they run through the sprinkler like little kids!  I'm just talking about my big dogs though-my Toy Poodle can't tolerate a bath outdoors...I think you'll know whether the dog is uncomfortable or not.

i've never heard of a law protecting dogs from a cold bath... so sorry

your dog will be fine i give my dog cold water baths all the time in the  summer it cools him down

You don't say where you are.  For most of us in the US, we are still in high summer.  The very northern states will start seeing cooler nights in another month or 6 weeks, but where I live in the South won't see fall until mid-November.  And so without you saying where you are, we can only respond by what is true where WE are.  It's plenty hot here to give a dog a bath with the garden hose.  Come October, I would probably rethink that.  If I had a dog, that is.

You know, when I was 7 years old (30 years ago), all our dogs got baths with the hose outside! In fact, they even lived in the back yard.

If it didn't kill them then, it's not going to kill them now.

BTW: Who's dog is it...? Your dad's of the g/f's?
