  1. No, it's Trinidad and Tobago.  I also read somewhere that the steel pan is the only musical instrument to be developed in the 20th century.

  2. NOT SO---Trinidad and Tobago.

  3. No a which program dat?

  4. Not true. The steel band and calypso originated in Trinidad and Tobago.

  5. No. Trinidad and Tobego are responsible for that particular instrument. At one time Jamaica was a "Calypso playing island" which is quite evident in the tourist resorts in present day Jamaica. Trinidad/Tobego play that instrument because it is part of their culture....for example "Carnival" is a T&T thing, but they introduced that celebration to all of the islands and south america just like they did with the steel drums....so to answer your question as those ahead of me already established no. That is a T&T thing.
