  1. Hi. Here's some info for you. La Dua, also known as 'Pandanus',is a tree native to Southeast Asia.It has slender fragrant leaves with a scent like Jasmine rice.Sometimes referred to as Asian vanilla. There are hundreds of species; some have edible fruit, and others have leaves strong enough to be used as plates.Blossoms from the tree have a delicate scent, much like roses. The blossoms are  used in India to flavor sweets and syrups. It is sometimes called 'screwpine' in English due to its twisted stems. The leaves are used to give flavor, aroma, and color[a bright green] to desserts. In Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand ,rice cooked in coconut milk flavored with the leaves is considered a delicacy. In Indonesia rice  steamed in baskets made from the leaves is another delicacy. Popular also in Bali and Vietnam. You can also buy them in Southeast Asian grocery stores fresh or frozen.

  2. You saw pandan leaves? Are you in the US? Because I am, and I haven't seen them anywhere.
