Unfortunately there are a lot of prejudice people who still think white people are superior... It could be that he was prejudice and was maybe a Skinhead. I see Skinheads with that tatoo often - sad.

It could also mean that he is Buddhist. In Japan it means "balance of opposites" or "universal harmony". In China it's used to ward off evil, and is used on food packages to show that the food is vegetarian.

The swastika originally meant peace, and in some cultures still does. An example is Hinduism.

In this day and age most people you see with a swastika are Neo-n***s and/or White supremacists.  

At one time the swastika was simply the Hindu symbol (and word) for luck.  After Hitler and the n**i party adopted it it has been irrevocably associated with hate and fascism.  

Occasionally you will see hippies and new age people using this symbol in the traditional sense, but it is rare.  

Chances are if he/she looks like bad news, then he/she is a Neo-n***s and/or White supremacists.  If he/she looks like a hippie, then it is ok -- but you still don't want to get stuck talking to them.

The sighn is called a swasticka(I spelled it that way because thats how ists pronounced)

and this is the sight that means"white power"it wasnt the original meaning but during the holacaust(spelled so you can pronounce it right) he used it trying to create his own race(of all white blonde hair blue eyed people) and killed others who where not(mostly jews) which is why no body likes hitler....
