I saw something in the sky and i have no clue what it was, can someone give me a legitimate answer?

it was moving really slow, it looked as if it were in one spot until i looked back at it after a while. it kept getting brighter and dimmer too

  1. if it slowly got bright, then started dimming again right away, it was probably an iridium flare


  2. The perseid meteor showers are going on right now.  They peak on the 12th of August.  We saw several the other night and they were slow moving.  It was fascinating.  that could be what you saw.
