  1. What is positive is that it was very close but I think he did. I think the race just showed Phelps' determination till the last second.

  2. yeah he did. if cavic would have taken another stroke like phelps did insted of gliding in he would have won, but he didnt. and phelps has crazy long arms.

  3. Yes he did.  There is a pressure sensitive pad on the end of the pool that they have to touch.  Phelps' pad went off before the other guy's did.  It's not decided just by visuals from judges and cameras.

  4. Yeah he did, it was by 1/10 of a second

  5. Visually, the finish was hard to decipher, but I do believe Phelps pulled it out. Here's why...

The Omega touchpads used in the Olympics are state of the art and highly accurate. If you look back at the finish, you will see that Phelps took an extra stroke at the end which allowed him to explode into the wall...Cavic basically glided into the wall on the propulsion from his last kick. It came down to that and it was enough to give Phelps the win.

  6. ya. the touchpad never lies.

  7. The win wasn't determined by someone looking at it. There are electronic touch pads that do that. According to the electronics, Phelps won by 0.01 seconds, too close to see.
