I saw the weirdest thing yesterday

ok well i was drivin to my friend's house and there were 2 cops (state troopers) parked on the shoulder in a line and then a 1/2 mile down the road, 2 more cops (just sitting there). then about 1/4 mile down the road, i saw a dtf (drug task force) who had pulled over a car and a local cop was right behind him.

then on my way out to get food i saw about 10 cop cars parked in this one parking lot and they were all just gathered outside their cars.....

it was the weirdest thing - and i was paranoid for a few reasons that i wont share -

my friend told me it means a cop died - is that true? and if not wt h**l were they doing?

It may be that they were staging for some sort of warrant run or some other operation that needed coordination. It may also indeed be that there was a funeral for an active or retired officer and they were gathered to travel as a group. It's even possible there was an in-service school somewhere nearby. I assume that this is unusual and not just something that sometimes happens at shift change. The DTF stop was probably just coincidence.
