  1. They have in a day what someone else have in a week.

    Don't step in their trap.

Here in Antwerp there a few like that and the big Mercedes is waiting around the corner with their husband or pimp.

  2. next time you see this lady give her all your change n your pocket. sometimes everyones to busy to do nice things for people and you just cant help the whole world but gashdangit you can try by helping out a little:)

    xol

  3. Well, it's understandable to feel this way but there's two ways to look at a situation like this. For one, if ANYTHING I'd feel bad for the baby, NOT the woman. My reason- What the h**l did she get herself pregnant for if she obviously couldn't raise a child in a regular home?! Second, IF you would have offered money, the woman would've obviously happily take your money, but think about it, chances are a person like her would've used it on drugs or alcohol. Honestly, that's all they use their money on. I don't really know what I'd do in such a situation, but these are just two ways I'd look at it.

  4. I don't normally give cash to the homeless or those who sit in the medians with signs. If I can I will give them food. On several occasions I have bought them something to eat. My simple reason is that I don't want to give them cash and have them buy alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs. I don't buy those things, so why would I want to give my money for them to buy them?

But I agree that the woman should be able to get into a shelter and/or get other social services rather easily. If she refuses to get help, I for one think her baby should be taken away from her and given proper care until such time as she is able to care for it. The street is no place for a baby. And she may be inspired to "get it together" for the sake of getting her baby back. If she is mentally ill, she should be in a hospital where she can get help.

In our highly advanced civilization, no one should be living and sleeping on the streets. Basic shelter should be provided for all, and if they refuse it, then they should have to go live in the woods or the country, because having panhandlers on the sidewalks and in the medians and people sleeping in doorways and pushing around blankets in shopping carts is not enjoyable for the rest of us. Some people say that some homeless *want* to sleep outside, that they don't like to be confined, but then, like I said, they should be made to leave the cities and towns (but only in the case where sufficient shelter is available and offered to all).

  5. I would go buy some baby food or formula.  Its not the baby's fault the mother is a deadbeat.  I probably would have given her money too but its not a good idea, because theres no way of knowing where that money is going.

  6. I don't know where you are but if you are in the United States take her over to the local welfare office.  She doesn't need change, she needs to get her and her baby into a shelter.

  7. Do you thinkshe was just homeless?.maybe she was a destitute slightly sick?................well,cannot be helped but there are so many of them thsedays........maybe i could fit her in my special school somewhere?.............sad

  8. Why would you feel guilty?  She has a TON of opportunity to get help from social services.  Single moms are the number one priority of the welfare system.  If she chooses not to apply for help, that's her choice.

  9. Handing out your money to someone else just because they ask for it is not ok. If it makes you feel better, work at a local shelter, put money into local food programs, carry around cards that can point homeless people with children to special programs run in the area for them. You don't know if these people really are homeless or are just looking for a handout. How would you account for this money at tax time? They will not give you a receipt after all.

Find a more constructive use for that change and it will work for the community a whole lot more.

  10. Out here in CA USA. They give a lot to a Woman and her child.I do not know what Country your from but in the US there is a lot of aid to women and children.

I can not say why this woman was homeless, but in general in the US she would get a few thousand a month in Cash, Food Stamps and Housing.

The best you could do is offer Her some food for her and the Baby.I do not think Cash would be a good thing as she might be on drugs and has already burned out her Benefits from Social Services.

In the US we find that most of the Core homeless are Mentally Ill and or on drugs and Alcohol. They are very hard to work with as the have this addiction and or they refuse to take medication for Mental Illness.

This woman may have been in transition and hopefully she will find help soon.
