  1. Trust me a lotta people can afford that. And that is the reason why airlines put those seats there. And these people don't buy $25000 cars.

  2. People with more money than sense. You will always get people like that. Thank God for them.

  3. There is an old adage... people with more dollars than sense!

    Says it all really.

  4. There is more wealth out there than you can imagine. There are many many people that would look at that price tag and rather than spend $50,000 for two tickets, they will go out and buy a private jet (assuming they don't have one already. If they do, upgrade to one with the range they need)  I have worked at an FBO servicing private aircraft and I have seen it. I had a frequent customer who traded in a Citation VI for a Gulfstream IV because he wanted to fly to Europe nonstop.

There is an even greater number of people that don't mind paying that kind of money, to them money basically does "grow on trees."

Given that the trip is from JFK to Hong Kong It's very likely that those taking that trip would be on business, with their company paying for the ticket. What's $25,000 if the trip makes you $250,000 or more? Not a bad investment.

  5. Most people can't afford that... but to the wealthiest 1% of the population, that is less than a day's earning for many of them... And that $25,000 price tag is a bargain over chartering an airplane for the trip for those very few who can afford it.  The ultra wealthy have a lifestyle that most of us will never be able to fathom.
