  1. You get an AB subscore when you take the BC exam..so you could improve your AB score after taking your BC calc exam.

  2. yes whatever grade u get on the ap calculus bc exam is given to your ap calculus ab grade +1, it should replace it

eg. u get a 4 on ap calculus bc,

u get a subscore of a 5 on ap calculus ab

  3. lol, i got a 1 also on the AP Calc AB exam. that free-response section was ridiculous! but the AB exam is suppose to give you credit for one semester in college, if you pass the BC one, it would give you the same one as AB plus another, so a whole year of credit, so if you pass the BC one, it wouldnt replace the AB score, but you would probably still get the credit you would have gotten if you passed both, does that make sense?

  4. Of course calc BC is Calc @ if you get a 4 or 5 it shows your are adept in calc 2 (which means that you are adept in calc one). To answer your question yes it will. It should give you the credits you would have earned if you made a good bc grade.

  5. The BC will not replace AB. When the score reports go out to your school, they will see both, separate grades.

  6. No, it won't replace the grade. It will prove to colleges that you understand the material and you may be able to get the college credit you were seeking through taking the AB exam by getting him a better score on the BC. But it will not erase your first score. The AB score will remain on your transcript.

  7. No offense, but if you can't even pull a 2 on the AB exam there's no way you're getting a 3 on BC.

  8. When you take the BC Calc exam, there are AB Calc questions and BC Calc questions.  When the exam is being graded, the AB questions are pulled out and graded, then the BC questions are graded.  You get a score which is your BC score and then you get a subscore, which is the score of the AB questions that were seperated.  The subscore can replace your previous AB score, they take the higher of the two.

Now here is my advice for you.  Since you only got a 1 on the AB Calc exam, you really should not consider signing up for BC Calc, because you, no offense, will most likely fail the class.  BC Calc in high school is for the best mathematicians in the school, the students that highly understand math, not just the ones that pass by completing assignments.  However, if you got an A in AB Calc, I would highly advise you to reflect upon yourself and your math knowledge and really decide if you could handle it, that is the only leeway I can lend you.  Honestly, not disrespectfully, I urge you not to venture on taking BC Calc, it will save you a lot of stress and hardwork and failure.

I understand math extremely well, I took the AB Calc exam my junior year and scored a 4.  Then, my senior year, I took the BC Calc class and took the exam and got a 5.  BC Calc is difficult for most people, it's difficult for most of high school's best math people.  So please take this advice and really think about if you really want to do this.
