  1. They do not take off point for getting questions wrong on the ACT. That only happens with the SAT.

    That score is probably about average, but it might be a little difficult to get into college.


  2. You are right that the ACT doesn't take off points for answering a question wrong.

    The writing portion of the test doesn't have any effect on your composite score (the 19). Your score is a little bit below average, so you may want to study and retake it depending on what you think you are capable of and whether you need a higher score to get into your choice of college.
