I feel really bad because it is a new 2008 Toyota Matrix i bought like 3 days ago. The bottom bumper is scratched and you can see the black paint on the bottom. The good thing is that you dont see it until you bend down and look at the bottom of the bumper. Here is an example of where i scratched the bumper.

It is right beneath the bottom black bumper grille and on the sides right next to the black grille. If u look at it from this angle, you cant see it. You have to look under the bumper. Is it worth fixing or should i just leave it? Are there any DIY jobs i can do to hide it a little bit?

  1. Probably wouldn't be worth fixing it, most people carry a $200-500 deductible on insurance which means you'd have to come up with that money...how many times have you "curbed" the front end on a parking spot cement block?? I do it all of the time. :)

  2. Yes, its a new car and it will make you feel better. Check with your local auto supply store on what DIY auto kits are available.

    Cute car! Good luck.

  3. it could rust if you dont fix it

  4. should you fix what??? the driveway or your car....

  5. I personally would fix it because it's an investment you've made. You have a nice car so might as well take care of it. You can't really see the scratch, but apparently it is bothering you so just get it fixed. I'm sure if you go to an Auto Zone or Pep Boys they can advise you on the best product to use to hide or eliminate the scratch.

  6. you could use a silver sharpie

  7. Scratchaway stuff should take the scratch out

Unless its the black part. I'd just paint it.
