I see all these predictions,haven't people learned from the past 3 years

every year people turn physic,this team is going to the superbowl,this team is going to suck,this team got lucky and for the past three years the team that no one gives a chance wins the superbowl.haven't all you learned that football has no sure winners,in this game heart beats stats.you can have all the talent in the world and still lose.

If you dont like it dont read it. I have to assume you dont play fantasy football, which happens to be a billion dollar business, because that is all built on speculation. The NFL draft is speculation but its a huge event.

The ability to argue as an educated fan is what makes sports great. Now as an educated fan, I will tell you the Steelers will still play second fiddle to the Pats and Colts, but Im sure you've heard that before. Perhaps thats the reason you created this sorry excuse for a question.

Wait - so what's the question?  Okay, so football has no sure winners.  Great, fine.  Why is this important?

People take predictions too seriously - they should be taken with a grain of salt.  Yeah people are going to disagree all the time, but without predictions, what would we do during the off-season?  It's just something people do for fun.

Well you have a legitimate point in that we need to stop being so judgemental about a team just because they lost last season or did very well last season.  The fact is we don't really know what a team can do.  The reason why I like to predict how many games a team may win is because it adds an element to football.  Guessing that  a team will be good or bad, gives football more of the "trash talking" factor.  What I mean is, if I make a prediction to my friends who are football fans, and I say the Cowboys will be 12-4 but lose in the divisionals again, and I am right, then it gives me the opportunity to make sport of that to my fellow football mates.. You see you are right in the respect that we don't know who will win or lose, and that sometimes great talent isn't enough to win, however picture a world in football without making predictions.  It just adds to the excitement and gives you the chance to talk more smack if you are right.. I see your point but I still enjoy it very much so..
