I see on the UTU website, a new agreement has been reached including a 17% pay raise....what do ya think???

Is this good enough? Should we have went for 10 hr hog laws instead? A higher raise? Just looking for feedback, no right or wrong answers..

Changes in the Hours of Service Act is at the discretion of congress as this is Federal Law.  I would agree, however, that it should be shortened to 10 hrs., the same as long haul truck drivers.

These days, any raise is a good raise, but collective bargaining would be better served pursuing benefits at this juncture, or other improvements to work rules.

Of course, that's just one man's opinion.  There are those that would argue shortening on duty time to ten hours will cut into earnings as overtime will evaporate to nothing, in many cases.

I'd rather make a little less by garnering more time to enjoy what I do earn...
