  7. Not when it's the blood of my best friend who was hit by a sniper bullet in the neck. Does that answer your question. Does it make me feel more like a man?! I don't know if your quoting lyrics from a song or trying to criticize what so many have died like my friend. He did not die to defend freedom or ensure the rights of others are up held. He died so that I could live. So that I could see home once more. I myself have stepped on pressure plates and been blown almost 10 feet. Been shot at more times than I can count. When these things happened I can garuantee you that I did not think of freedom. I fight for my friends. I fight so that I can see my family again. I fight to survive to see home again. Without my friend there I probably would not have seen home again. But he laid his life at my feet. He died to let me live. So to answer your question ... No. I have never felt farther from it. Because when I think of a man and all the qualities of what a man should be I think of my best friend. He is more of a man than any other person could come close to being.
